Jhansi (Lok Sabha constituency)

Jhansi (Hindi: झांसी) is a Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency in Jhansi, South-Western Uttar Pradesh.

The serial number of this constituency in Uttar Pradesh, is 57. This constituency includes geographical boundaries of Lalitpur district also(in due south from Jhansi city).

In the 2004 Lok Sabha Elections, the constituency had 1,526,320 eligible voters, of whom 53.70% exercised their franchise.

There were sixteen candidates. Election was conducted at 1494 polling stations, and 819,646 valid votes were counted. Chandrapal Singh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party was elected by a margin of 26,299 votes. He defeated Mr. Babu Lal Kushwaha of Bahujan Samaj Party. Mr. Chandrapal Singh Yadav(winner) got 29.13% votes, Mr. Babulal Kushwaha(runner-up), 25.92% and Mr. Rajendra Agnihotri(BJP) got 25.2% votes in 2004 general elections.
