Officially, I'm called James. Unofficially, I prefer JGXenite ... or simply Jam.[1]
About me
Education
I am currently studying Software Engineering in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Sheffield. I will be finishing my Bachelor's degree course in the summer of 2008, and (hopefully!) doing a one year Master's degree course after that.[2]
University life
Aside from my academic studies, I also help out within the department. I have taken part in many open days, have been a member of the Staff-Student Liaison Committee, and even participated in publicity photo shoots for the department and the University. I was also an Intro Week Assistant during September 2007, helping to run events for new students at the University and acting as an information point and guide to them.
From 2005 until 2008, I was quite active within the Sheffield Universities Dancesport society, dancing at inter-varsity competitions around the country during the academic year. I also held two committee positions during my time as a member - Publicity Officer during 2007 and 2008, and Treasurer during 2006 and 2007.
Outside of university
In my spare time, I like to develop computer software and build websites. jgxenite.org is a culmination of all these projects, although work on it has been suspended since I started university.[3]
I also work for Greenhead College, developing intranet solutions and assisting in the Technical Support department as a Network Support Assistant.

- ^ A prize to the person who can tell me where this (modified!) quote comes from.
- ^ This is assuming that I meet the requirements for continuing into the Master's year - fingers crossed I will!
- ^ I hope to one of these days re-start it, although support for Delphi under Linux is pretty poor unfortunately...
