[edit] Names

This article describes Hatzohar as a "pre-War right wing Jewish-Polish" party, but the article describes the movement as "Zionist-socialist". Hatzohar is redirecting to Hashomer Hatzair? Were they maybe different organisations that someone has confused? According to the article, Hashomer Hatzair joined the Zydowska Organizacja Bojowa rather than Zydowski Zwiazek Walki.

I have no idea. I'ev read that somewhere and put into article - note however that ZZW was not from Hatzohar members only, and not all members of Haztzohar joined the ZZW, but some of foundrs of it were from that party.
Someone with better access to material on ZZW (in polish they are EXTREMELY rare) could try to work out a btter version)

You were right. These were two different parties, it seems. I've created stub, someone more knowledgeable should correct it now! Szopen 13:39, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)

A true name of ZWW is Zydowski Zwiazek Wojskowy Jewish Figthing Organization, and Związek Walki Zbrojnej - this is Polish organization of gen. Sikorsky. Lamerkhav user from the Russian part of the Wikipedia 2:03 Apr, 26 2006

Yup, fixed now. //Halibutt 04:27, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Dispute

Appelbaum and Apfelbaum sound like the same person. Something seems to be amiss here. Bayerischermann 23:02, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Yup, it's a mere typo, not a content dispute. The guy was Dawid Mordechaj Apfelbaum, a Lieutenant of the Polish Army. The problem is that most of ŻZW members used Polish rather than Hebrew or Yiddish, while their names are often first rendered in those languages and then transliterated back to Latin alphabet. Hence the typo, I guess. Will correct that. //Halibutt 04:32, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
Added a note on his name (the naming controversy is specifically mentioned in the article by Kledzik). //Halibutt 06:11, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Request for Reference

A while ago, I added some references at the bottom of the article. Can we take the messages on the main page out now? Gadig 04:45, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

I'm currently working on proper referencing of this article. Be sure I will convert the external links to proper reference as soon as it gets. //Halibutt 06:10, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Englishing

Could we use Jewish Military Union for the article's title? Why are we getting all these articles titled by the foreign words? --Irpen 19:04, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

I support this suggestion. Google Books shows that version is widely used in English-language publications (though ZZW is also common), and it is more accessible to the non-Polish Wikipedia users. Balcer 19:13, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Anyone objects to the move? --Irpen 20:15, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Agree with Balcer.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  05:38, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
