[edit] Contradiction?

Jewelweed has been shown to be devoid of any anti-itch activity (antipruritic effect) in several controlled studies, but is still used widely as a very effective home remedy against poison ivy rashes, bee stings, and insect bites.

The gist of this seems to be that jewelweed is a very effective remedy that doesn't work. --Trovatore 04:46, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

OTOH, may be a cure for the rash that doesn't stop itching before cure of the irritation. FYI, it's common in MN and attracts hummingbirds... one of their favorites. Cnc55124 23:47, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
