This species is found only in New Zealand, on Otago Peninsula and Banks Peninsula. Some are also found on the eastern slopes of the Southern Alps, tending to link the two main locations.
[edit] Description
Males and females of the Otago Peninsula population, and females from Banks Peninsula, are base green in colour with yellow or white markings. However, the males from the Banks Peninsula population are differently coloured - never green, but variations of gray and brown with yellow, purple and white flashings.

These geckos are active during the day and on warm evenings in Summer. They are found in a wide variation of vegetation types, but usually scrub type bushes such as manuka, matagouri and mingimingi.
[edit] Ecology
They feed on flies, moths and other insects and invertebrates. Young are born in late summer or early autumn.
