Jetboy (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jetboy is a hard rock band formed in 1984. The band was not easily pigeon-holed as their music influences ranged from punk rock to heavy metal with a good dose of blues thrown in. The Hanoi Rocks impression was obvious. Lead vocalist Mickey Finn was the more hardcore punk image during the earlier years, sometimes sporting a mohawk while other times a short-shorn leopard-spotted hairdo. The music started off with a very "in your face" attitude, which seemed to be tempered a bit by the time they had a major label release. Their 1988 debut album Feel the Shake peaked at 135 on The Billboard 200. In 1987, bassist Todd Crew died due to a drug overdose. Hanoi Rocks had recently parted ways after the untimely death of their drummer Razzle, which freed up bassist Sam Yaffa to fill in the position. A member of Jetboy's original influence was now a member of the band. Jetboy continued on into the 1990s before calling it a day. However, as the demand for the band was still there, Jetboy reconvened in recent years. While both playing in California, and now touring, they have plans to record a new CD.
Three songs from Feel the Shake were featured in the 1989 movie The 'Burbs, starring Tom Hanks. They were "Bloodstone", "Locked in a Cage" and "Make Some Noise".
