Note to all administrators: Please do not mistake me for the Willy on Wheels vandal. I have been blocked a few times due to misunderstandings. For proof see my usertalk page and my contributions.
I realize that my name will most likely lead to more bans but I have been using it for many years and many people identify me with it. Please don't leave me messages to change my name. |
[edit] Your username
As you may or may not know, there is a user nicknamed "Willy on Wheels", a high-speed page move vandal whose modus operandi consists of creating an account (often containing the words "Willy on Wheels" or some permutation thereof) and moving a series of random pages to different titles. Because of the recent damage caused by this vandal, an administrator may overreact when seeing your user name on sight (just because it has "On Wheels") and block you from editing, without paying attention to your contributions to Wikipedia. Thus, you might want to consider changing your username to avoid these possible disruptions to your account. Thank you. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 13:07, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
- OK, I'll leave a message on the administrators' noticeboard to let other admins know about your account. But I cannot guarantee that you won't be blocked in the future. That is the best I can do at the moment until the Willy on Wheels vandal stops harassing Wikipedia. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 00:01, 4 September 2005 (UTC)
- Personally, I recommend that you put a big colored banner at the top of your user and talk pages stating that you are not Willy on Wheels, and linking to both your user history and these discussions for backup. An admin who went to block you as a Willy on Wheels sock will look at your user page at some point, so that will probably save you most of the time. Aquillion 00:04, 4 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Must be a lot of fun
With a provacative username. I'd say keep it. Those who get mad, despite realizing that you have put a lot of thought into it, are really just reflective of the kind of narcicism that is the ugliest part of wikipedia.

Would you mind if I put a red border around your "I'm not Willy on Wheels"-message on your userpage to make it more visible? - Mgm|(talk) 08:44, September 7, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Is your backgroud German?
Is your backgroud German?
yes, why? Jesus On Wheels 04:46, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
I was wondering this because of South Australia's Germanness and German Heritage [my use of Capitals on Nouns and Commas between Clauses is intentional, and is intended to follow German orthographical Conventions, and I do this when writing to People in SA]. Very significant to me, becuase I went there last Year and got dissaponted not to find what I had been told about here in Victoria, that South Australia was sopposed to be Australia's most "cultivated" State, I didn't find this and I couldn't find as many native South Australians who knew that Hahndorf means "rooster village," let alone, about Physiscist Albert Onestone. It's interresting to note, that Trans Adelaide/Adelaide Metro has selected a German low-floor tram design (Bombardier's Flexity Classic) to replace its aged fleet of H-Class trams. And I hardly came across the classic South Australian Accent,i.e. I didn't hear the Prononcaition of "they're" as "th'are" (maybe it's archacic). However, I do remember (at least once) comming across the broad 'ou' Sound in "out' and about," "You're not allaowd here, aout!" My Guess is, that South Asutralia was the Way I was told, back in the 1970s but many of those People moved to Melbourne, I was also told about a School in Barossa Valley that had only French and Chinese on its LOTE Curriculum, and I guessed that they taught German in the Past but removed it. Nicht sehr gut. Myrtone@Jesus On Wheels.com.au

See Wikipedia:Username for guidance on selecting an appropriate username. You may also edit Wikipedia without creating an account. You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia under an inappropriate username. If you would like to discuss the block, you may edit your talk page or email the administrator who blocked you.
Due to Wikipedia's mechanism for enforcing name changes, your IP address may be temporarily blocked. [edit] User: Jesus_On_Wheels
Jesus_On_Wheel's name is not infalmatory as corrected by many other admins. Having a name resembling a vandal cannot be applied just because you say it should.
- Where is it corrected by many other admins? The username policy includes as inflamatory "Names of religious figures such as "God" or "Allah", which may offend other people's beliefs", another admin I spoke to before blocking was of the opinion that the name fell into that category. We wouldn't accept "Mohammed on Wheels", "Allah on Wheels" etc. for the same reason. The user is welcome to change name to something else. --pgk(talk) 16:18, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- Are Jesús Alou, Jesús Navas, and Jesus Baza Duenas inflammatory? Is my name inflammatory because it resembles that of the son of the devil in The Omen? --Damian Yerrick (talk | stalk) 01:49, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
I'm afraid (although I am an editor and not an admin) I don't agree about this username, I beleive that the IP adress should also be blocked and their internet and email disconnected, before they change their username I think they should change:
- Their internet account
- The lock(s) on their door(s)
- Their phone number
- The sort of clothes they wear
- The sort of car they drive (if they posses a driver's licence)
- Maybe the town of Adelaide needs to be renamed and the railways diverted
Myrtone@Jesus On Wheels.com.au:-(
- Because no doubt the user ceases to function or be able to contribute to wikipedia under an alternate name less likely to cause religious offense? --pgk(talk) 17:17, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi, Jesus On Wheels. After some discussion, I've decided to unblock your username. I'm sorry that your choice of username has put you at odds with some admins, but since your username combines something that could potentially be offensive to some (Jesus) with a well-known vandal (On Wheels), you can probably expect more of these types of blocks in the future. I know you have a specific request on your user page about not having requests to change your name, but even as an admin who was willing to unblock you, I must ask you to reconsider. From what I hear, your last block was due to having a user name containing a religious figure. Maybe you would consider a name like "JOW" or "J.O.W." and mention the full name in your user page? I understand if you choose not to do that, but it sure would make this a lot easier around here, for you and for us. --Deathphoenix ʕ 17:35, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- I just came here to make the identical suggestion and Deathphoenix beat me to it. The reasoning is sound. :) RadioKirk talk to me 17:54, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- As one of the people advocating getting you unblocked, I concur with RadioKirk and Deathphoenix. Please, have your username changed. It doesn't take much and will cause you considerably less grief in the future. --Durin 18:56, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Dear Jow, I have reverted grafiti on you userpage done by Henginholke, do you consider it vandalism? I too would like your username changed but I would also like you to change your internet/email account and possibly your phone number, I suggest you change your life in accordance with what the Lucinda Williams song 'I changed the locks' is about. Myrtone@Jesus On Wheels.com.au PS there is a disuccion about you username (and ISP) here, under the section named {{vandal|Jesus On Wheels}}, I would like you to reply to it, I appoloise for not being able to link to that discussion properly.

[edit] username
A). Why did you choose Jesus on Wheels? and B). Please change it here if you don't mind. GangstaEB• ice slides) 13:38, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
You may or may not know. I'm guessing not. Jesus is a name. Your name mentions Gangsta? I would like you to change it please, it is offending to me. Read above, obviously you need a little brain power. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.24.9.15 (talk • contribs • WHOIS) .
- Yes, it is a name of a religious figure, and you may or may not know, but I'm guessing not, that it goes against policy to have names of religious figures such as Jesus or Allah in usernames. It also goes against policy to include content in usernames that gives the impression that they are sockpuppets of notorious vandals, which is why "on wheels" is not appropriate. And one last word of advice, please don't about other people needing brain power when you obviously have none yourself since all of your contributions have been vandalism or trolling.--Conrad Devonshire Talk 05:16, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, there are two problems with this username: one is the religious figure bit, the other is connotations of Willy on Wheels. It's asking for trouble, frankly, so please change it. Just zis Guy you know? 09:32, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
I will change mine if it offends a lot of users with usernames. But I didn't know that a Easter Bunny being a Gangsta offends people. I won't change it at your request because you made a Personal Attack. Yes I knew that Jesus is a name, and this situation would be much better if it was his name. It probably isn't, and if it isn't that makes this situation a WHOLE lot worse. And as stated above we wouldn't except "user:Allah is Communism". GangstaEB• ice slides) 14:13, 7 July 2006 (UTC) P.S. Your name has already gotten you into several sticky situations. I would have changed it a long time ago.
I, too, would prefer it if you changed your username. I'm not asking you to, I'm just saying that I'd prefer it if you did. As GangstaEB points out, you can make a name-change request at Wikipedia:Changing username. The process is quick and simple. Thanks – Gurch 11:53, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
I think that GangstaEB is right. You should change your user name, and also, this great baseball player should change his name, too, because it has "Jesus" in it, and that can be offensive to people. --Captain Sarcastic!
- Another ill-informed user, I take it? This doesn't have anything to do with individual offense. Please consider reading about Wikipedia's username policy before posting.--Conrad Devonshire Talk 05:54, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Come on, people! Are any of you Christians? I am but it doesn't bother me. Some people get offended by the stupidest of things. Well, it isn't your buisness! Leave this guy alone! --Yancyfry jr 04:41, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Relax
- I apologize to the user whose talk page I am editing for randomly adding comments, but I believe everyone should really stop worrying about his/her username offending anyone. Wikipedia does not apply the same amount of religious sensitivity to the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy article (Do not follow the link if you would be appalled by cartoons depicting Muhammad as a terrorist). I believe everyone can agree "Jesus on Wheels" is far less appalling than publicly showing pictures that depict 1.5 billion Muslim's beloved prophet as a terrorist on Wikipedia. I can certainly testify that Jesus on Wheels is not offense to me and I'm a Methodist. Furthermore, I doubt Jesus of Nazareth, himself, would take offense. My proposal is if people really care about religious sensibilities to stop hassling a user who has shown to be a responsible editor/contributor and worry more about the aforementioned article, which publicly shows blasphemous materials or is there a hypocrisy between a censoring a user's username with a religious (or possibly secular) reference and forbiding self-censorship of the Muhammad cartoons. -- Wikitravel Sapphire 13:10, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Impostor Alert
While looking through the block log, I noticed that somebody got blocked for being a WoW account with the username User:Jesus on WheeIs (that "l" in Wheels is actually a capital I). While I believe the blocking reason is wrong, I support the block as being a block on an impostor. I therefore tagged the impostor's userpage with the appropriate tag. I am just letting you know in case someone tries to register more impostors of you so that you would be prepared to defend your account in case some vandal registers another impostor account and an administrator mistakenly blocks you for it. [edit] Jesus Christ!
Wow. I came across this from the Willy on Wheels page, I just can't believe the shit some people are giving you. Kudos for standing up for yourself and not changing your name, too bad this place is filled with idiots who don't know "Jesus" and "Mohammed" are common names for Hispanics and Arabs. Not that it matters because this place is supposed to be uncensored- next time someone tells you to change your username just say your real name is Jesus (pronounced Hey-Zeus). --TheTruthiness 17:59, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hear! Hear! --Bruce 11:53, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
- I know but he's Australian with German ancestry not Hispanic and I said we wouldn't accept 'Mohammad is Communism'. Stupid 23:25, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hey I know an Australian of Dutch ancestry who's name is Luigi. I once asked him how he got an Italian name and he said his parents just liked it. Ancestry cannot be taken as a very strong indicator of name in the modern world. Jesus and Mohammad are common names. Comparing 'Mohammad is Communism' to 'Jesus on Wheels' is apples and oranges to me. Communism is seen in a negative light be many English speakers - the term 'Wheels' is neutral. I believe a better comparison to 'Jesus on Wheels' is 'Mohammad on a Donkey'. Neither is derogitory IMHO. Robert Brockway 19:27, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- I know but he's Australian with German ancestry not Hispanic and I said we wouldn't accept 'Mohammad is Communism'. Stupid 23:25, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
In fact he is not just Australian but more spacifically South Australian (Location, Adelaide), and his German background means that Jésus is unlikely to be his real name, and Saphire is a Methodist, not a Catholic (the Catholics are the more conservative and tradtional of all (Non-Orthodox) Christians). On a related note, how it's done on OrthodoxWiki[1][2] may also be of interest. Myrtone (☏)
- Man, reading your talkpage makes me wonder how stupid Wikipedia can be at times. Big deal, you have a username which could be offensive to some small section of the community. Do they recognise your contributions to the encyclopedia? Isn't that we're all here for? Bah. Some people on this site take themselves way too seriously. *tears hair out in frustration* Anyway, that was my rant. Keep on trucking, my friend, I applaud you for standing up for yourself. Don't you ever change, baby, hahaha. — riana_dzasta • t • c • e • 23:15, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't like to be a pain, but I wouldn't even be worried about the WoW reference as much as the fact that the username guidelines prohibit the use of religious figures as usernames. See user:Jesus for example. It's not offensive to me, but I find it odd that they let you keep your name and not user:Jesus. Freedom usually cares, kindly 20:11, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Good for you!
I support your decision to create and keep your controversial username. whether or not Jesus is your real name, there is no need to change it. On the username guidelines page it says religious figures aren't inherently inappropriate and are discouraged, but not banned. Whatever your original intent, your name serves to test censorship on Wikipedia. In our ever-secularizing world, most of the people who read this page or see your username are not the type to get offended by it. Again, even if you are not named Jesus and you only came up with your username to provoke, rock on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.162.72.120 (talk) 04:49, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
