[edit] Plagerism

Jesse, a lot of your Heat of the Night synopsis and cast notes are lifted directly from tv.com, formerly known as tvtome. That information has resided on that site since 2000-01.This is unacceptable.TV.com is not under the G.N.U.You must STOP THIS AND USE ORIGINAL material. You are violating Wiki guidelines. Please change the items you have copied.California12 00:47, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

I believe that this is an unwarranted accusation. I did not lift the synopsis and cast notes directly from tv.com. I used tv.com as a reference point, but was careful to make sure that the articles were in my own words. Plagarism is a rather serious accusation to be making, so if there are any further accusations to be made I will insist on the formal dispute resolution process at that point.
JesseG 22:43, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

I am the editor for In the Heat of the Night at TV.COM. I personally wrote every single synopsis over ther.I an NOT going to argue the point.I have already begun the the process of copying evidence and links to notepad. When I am done I am going to turn the info over to CNET and let THEM handle it."Content must not violate any copyright" The things I wrote at TV.COM are copywrited to the writer (myself) and them.Changing one are two words doesn't cut it.California12 23:02, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

I have removed all the plot summaries from all the episodes for the series articles. I am now going to resign from Wikipedia. California12 has convinced me that it's time to leave Wikipedia.

HEY DON'T FORGET TO UPLOAD A PICTURE OF YOUR SATELLITE MODEM

I did add a picture of the modem. All I would ask is that when people have requests for me to add something that they please turn off the CAPS LOCK. Thank you. JesseG 07:22, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Request for edit summary

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 6% for major edits and 7% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 92 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 05:31, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

From User talk:Mathbot/Feedback on the summary bot:

I do put a summary in if I think of it, it's not something that's automatic to me. I think most times if the changes were important to me I'd be more inclined to add a summary, if it was just minor corrections on things such as style, grammar, etc I didn't put anything in.
JesseG 05:38, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
Forgive me for pointing this out to a long-time, respected Wikipedian, but edit summaries aren't for the contributing editor, they're for the folks reviewing edit histories, to help them skim over what happened when without laborious paging through each edit. It's far from perfect, but it can be a real time- and server-saver. (With all the maintenance work I do on Wikiquote, and to a lesser extent on WP, the lack of edit summaries has become a bête noire for me, so I'm happy to see Mathbot tackling this.) ~ Jeff Q (talk) 07:27, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Why do you want to be called a typically depraved Iowa Republican?

This may be a side issue to you, but Jim Nussle's sex life is a major issue in the 2006 Governor's race. His current wife is a home-wrecking slut. She's also a K-Street whore, who worked for a foreign-owned K-Street lobbying firm. She's positively evil. Should Terrace Hill be renamed Slut House? --FourthAve 08:22, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

I have just applied the third level no personal attacks warning template to FourthAve's user talk page. I hate having to do that, but if you read the above comments there is no doubt in my mind that these are personal attacks. I would have been much more inclined to let this slide, but said user has not only engaged in personal attacks in the past, but has been given formal warnings by other users. FourthAve has ignored these warnings and has continued to brazenly make personal attacks against other people.
JesseG 05:42, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
I think you are a sockpuppet of Jaysus Christ, in that we've only exchanged first level warnings (you, O vile sockpuppet, never issued a first warning). Go cry on an Admin's shoulder.--FourthAve 11:27, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
Think harder. - Jaysus Chris 17:25, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
A. I am not a sock puppet of Jaysus Chris.
B. Frankly, to make a personal attack on a talk page and then sign it in addition is kind of like videotaping yourself throwing a rock through a person's living room window and then leaving the tape sitting on the victim's front door.
C. I may be a lot of things, but Republican isn't one of them. But Wikipedia is not the place for political material like this, and it is most definetly not the place for poltical attacks - such as calling others names like slut and whore.
JesseG 08:21, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
I'm working on a RfC on FourthAve. I will provide a link for certification when I'm fininshed. - Jaysus Chris 08:26, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Is this Beau Arts?

re: Beaux-Arts architecture

The (Dubuque County Courthouse) looks to me more like a rather bad pastish of Italianate Victorian decorations over basic 18th century Georgian forms. Certainly not (to me) exempliary of the Beau Arts style. I put in something I felt was more appropriate in its place, User:Wetman would be the appropriate expert we should consult if you have any objections - Leonard G. 02:19, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Notice of Request for Arbitration

Due to the continued, wilfull violation of WP:NPA and WP:NPOV by FourthAve, I have asked the Arbitration Committee to investigate his actions. I have listed you as an involved party because you have been a target of FourthAve's behavior. The RFA can be found here. Please leave a statement if you are so inclined. - Jaysus Chris 11:30, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Silage picture

I noticed your image in the silage article and was wondering if you could get a picture of silage itself for the article. Rmhermen 16:05, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bad LP agents

I know exactly what your talking about. When I first started at Dillard's there was one LP agent who was to put kindly "overzealous." He made about three to five bad stops a month and nobody in management would ever do anything about because he was a "nice guy." This guy even told me that he didn't become a racist until he started catching s****s and n*****s. Eventually the police officers we worked with refused to answer any of his calls. Thankfully the operations manager caught him sleeping in the camera tower one morning and that was the end of him. I've always found it amazing in the modern age of lawsuits that someone like this guy can still find work in the LP industry.

[edit] The Naked Now

I noticed your edits on The Naked Now, and was wondering: Was it just coincidence that you edit the article at the same time Spike TV is airing the same episode? (That's what led me to it) Prometheus-X303- 22:01, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Well that's wild. I do that sometimes: See a movie or tv show and decide to look it up here. It's handy for making changes to plot summaries. Prometheus-X303- 22:12, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/FourthAve

Hello,

An Arbitration case involving you has been opened: Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/FourthAve. Please add evidence to the evidence sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/FourthAve/Evidence. You may also contribute to the case on the workshop sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/FourthAve/Workshop.

[edit] Miller Park

Section 223 sounds just about right, we were in the very front rows of the section we were in right to the left of the press box.

Jesse, I think the rough is closed just about everyday in April to control the temperature. I've been to two games this year and have yet to see it open. Grassferry49 - April 19th, 2006

[edit] Solanus Casey

Hi! I started an article about Father Solanus Casey. Fr. Casey was declared venerable by Pope John Paul II. Thanks-RFD 14:59, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mediation for Funeral Homes

Aloha. I have been assigned to mediate on Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2006-04-27 Funeral Homes. Have you already reviewed Wikipedia:Notability (companies and corporations) and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Precedents? If those two links don't help, please let me know. —Viriditas | Talk 11:20, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/FourthAve/Evidence

Right now, I'm just collecting evidence. I will be reviewing all of your edits and all of your mail. Reply there or talk to Admin User talk:Tony Sidaway.

It's not that I think you are a troll, but the issue is Republican Capitol Hill staffers vandalizing political articles and my deplorable response to what I thought this was an example.

If you have additional thoughts, talk to me. --FourthAve 08:27, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/FourthAve

This arbitration case has closed. FourthAve is banned from Wikipedia for a year, and is placed on personal attack parole, probation, and general probation. This will be enforced by block. I have carried out the one-year-ban in my capacity as an administrator. For further details, please see the arbitration case. On behalf of the arbitration committee, Johnleemk | Talk 15:48, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Funeral Homes

Jesse, I didn't realize you'd brought this to mediation. I really wasn't trying to single you out, just saw some articles that, well, seemed to fail WP:CORP. Since the decision on the AfD page was to keep the articles, and I've no objection to that, am I right thinking there's no issue remaining here? --ES2 14:51, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Since there's been no response from Jesse while he's been online (between 28 April - 6 May) I'm going to move to close. If this case should be reopened, please leave me a message. —Viriditas | Talk 04:42, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] St. John's Cemetery

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article St. John's Cemetery (Dubuque), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:St. John's Cemetery (Dubuque). If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Camus II

I redirected Camus II to the List of Star Trek planets because it is a minor planet, mentioned or seen in only one Trek episode, and there is limited canonical information about it. Your article was repeating storylines already mentioned in "Turnabout Intruder" synopsis article, plus planet info already on the Memory Alpha wikisite. If you make future planet articles that are not "major worlds" (like Vulcan, Cardassia, Bajor which played pivotal roles in the Trek series) please add them to the planet list instead of giving them their own articles. Thanks. SkeezerPumba 00:48, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:CathedraloftheEpiphany.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:CathedraloftheEpiphany.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Jor-El.JPG

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Jor-El.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia 16:33, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:ArchbishopBurke.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:CollinsOrganConsole.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:CollinsOrganConsole.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Replaceable fair use Image:BishopNickless.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:BishopNickless.jpg.

Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 12:24, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Zonkeyheadline.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Zonkeyheadline.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:ClarkTerrell2285.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:ClarkTerrell2285.jpg.

[edit] Oakridge Glen Oaks Cemetery

A tag has been placed on Oakridge Glen Oaks Cemetery, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

No notability assertion

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Karanacs 20:33, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sto-Vo-Kor

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Sto-Vo-Kor, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). [edit] Replaceable fair use Image:RockfordAirport.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:RockfordAirport.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 18:06, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:PopeAndDziwisz.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:PopeAndDziwisz.jpg.

Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 02:02, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

An editor has nominated Project Genesis, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Project Genesis and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 23:29, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:B5Churchill.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:B5Churchill.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 22:33, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:UnivDubLogo.JPG

I have tagged Image:UnivDubLogo.JPG as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 02:42, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P32

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P32, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:ChaputCArms.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:ChaputCArms.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 01:33, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Kre'fey

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:CathedralSTLMainConsole.JPG

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:CathedralSTLMainConsole.JPG. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rossrs (talk) 08:46, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
