[edit] Scenes and paralles
The previous plot summary, taken from the Internet Movie Database, is wrong in saying that the parallels begin during the performance of the play: they are there much earlier.
I did a list of parallels. No doubt this could be improved upon. I hope someone does improve on it.
I removed the plug for Mel Gibson's film, which deleted the entire social message of the Gospels. For this and other reasons, it cannot be considered the standard against which other portrayals should be measured.
I added the link to Dramatic portrayals of Jesus, which gives you Gibson and all the rest.
French-Canadian culture is also a significant element, but not one I can comment on. I did however add a link to Julian May, who also covers religion and French-Canadian culture in her SF works. There's no direct influence either way, as far as I know. But I found points in common. --GwydionM 20:34, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not really seeing the connection to Julian May from an encyclopedic perspective--I agree they sometimes touch on related things, but I don't think the two articles really shed any light on each other at all. rodii 21:24, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
I'm just making readers aware of a similarity. Someone might want to do a comparison. --GwydionM 18:09, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Film's importance rating
I don't understand this. This film received several awards & was included in "Arts & Faith: Top 100 Spiritually Significant Film list" -- yet is ranked "Low importance"? -- llywrch 23:28, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Removal of "needs infobox" tag
This article has had its infobox tag removed by a cleanup using AWB. Any concerns please leave me a message at my talk page. RWardy 20:21, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
