[edit] Notability/Bio of Living Person

I started this page because Jessica Page Morrell (JPM) is a nonfiction author I respect. I have cited her book Between the Lines in other Wikipedia articles because I view her as a respected source on the subject. I consider this a service to Wikipedia readers.

The biographical information used in my original posting was obtained (and cited) from the "About the Author" section of Between the Lines. After the article was posted, I sent an email to JPM (as a courtesy) to let her know I had started the page. I asked her to review the article for accuracy and to provide me with more bio information if she so desired. She provided more information, some of which I plan to post shortly, to the extent that it fits an encyclopedic article.

I do not know JPM personally or professionally. We have no financial ties. My first contact with her was by email (through her website) after I started the bio. She writes nonfiction books for Writer's Digest Books, and I read/study/review/cite them for use in my own writing.

I have recently been editing Wikipedia articles about fiction and fiction writing. As I identify respected sources that do not already have a Wiki bio, I hope to create one for them as a service to Wikipedia readers.

I have reviewed the "Biographies of living persons" and "Notability" and believe this bio is well within those guidelines. Please remove the tags on the article. Mike Klaassen 23:14, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

You will want to read WP:BIO as well, as that is the specific policy for notablity for people. And currently this article does not meet the guidelines (external links do not count per the WP:MOS). There needs to be in the "sources/references" section some independent reliable sources used to demonstrate the notability of the subject matter. Newspapers are a great place to start, then more industry specific journals/magazines. Even things like book reviews will provide some coverage, though this is more trivial than a About Jessica Morrell piece in the New York Times. Basically, the less a source is about the subject (in this case Morrell), the more of those you would need to show notability. A couple good bios from newspapers or magazines would be enough to establish the notability. Aboutmovies 23:54, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
