The slide guitarist on "Statesboro Blues" from the first eponymous Taj Mahal album (recorded Aug/1967) was Jesse Ed Davis. This was the model and inspiration for Duane Allman whose (much more famous) version with the Allman Brothers was recorded several years later (Mar/1971). --Vincent 17:47, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
