Jesús María Pereda Ruiz de Temiño, (born Medina de Pomar, Burgos, June 23, 1938), also known as Chus Pereda or Txus Pereda, was a Spanish footballer who played for FC Barcelona during the 1960s. In 1964, together with Luis Suárez, Amancio Amaro, José Ángel Iribar and his FC Barcelona team mate, Josep Fusté he was a member of the Spanish team that won the European Championship in 1964. Apart from FC Barcelona, Pereda also played for six other La Liga teams, including Real Madrid. After retiring as a player, he coached various Spain youth teams and the Catalan XI.

Although born in (Burgos), Pereda was raised in Balmaseda in Vizcaya and as a schoolboy, he captained the provincial U-16 side. He began his senior career with Bilbao side SD Indautxu where his team mates included the veteran Lezama and Miguel Jones. Pereda and Jones, and later a third Indautxu player, José Eulogio Gárate, were all controversially rejected by Atlético Bilbao because of their birthplaces. While Jones and Gárate subsequently joined Atlético Madrid, Pereda initially joined their city rivals Real Madrid.

While at Real Madrid, Pereda was a member of their squad that won La Liga in 1957/58. However after just 2 La Liga games and an appearance in the 1958 Copa del Generalísimo final, he left the club and joined Real Valladolid for the 1958-59 season. While there he helped that club win the Segunda División-Group I. He then had two seasons at Sevilla FC before he was joined FC Barcelona. In eight seasons at the club he played 312 games and scored 107 goals in all competitions. During that time, he won the Copa del Generalísimo twice, in 1963 and 1968. He scored the opening goal in the 1963 Copa final when it made a rare visit to the Camp Nou. After leaving FC Barcelona he played for CE Sabadell and RCD Mallorca before retiring.

Pereda also scored 6 goals in 15 international appearance for Spain between 1960 and 1968. Two of these goals came in the European Championship in 1964. He scored in both the semi-final against Hungary and in the final against the USSR as he helped Spain win the competition.
