Historic Photo of Jesse Owens being awarded the Gold Medal for the Long Jump at the 1936 Summer Olympics. Owens is in the middle, with Luz Long (Germany) on the right with Silver, and Naoto Tajima (Japan) with Bronze. World War II would erupt three years later. Within six and one-half years after the photo, Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and drew the United States into the war against Japan and Germany.
