[edit] Etoro

The article showed no reason as to why the product was notable; indeed, only the last sentence was about the product itself, which merely said "X is a product". As the criteria for speedy deletion does not cover non-notable products, the reason for deletion is usually therefore given as advertising. ELIMINATORJR 03:39, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] etoro trading platform 2nd deletion

etoro trading platform 2nd deletion it seems you hardly give any thought to helping me understand what exactly needs to be improved in order for it to be ok with you, and just delete it before I get a chance to say anything. I was going to add more info in order to make it "more relevant" as you requested, but since I have no clue what qualifies as information and what qualifies as advertising according to your mysterious standarts, I left it at that point. When I came back to fix it, you already deleted it, that's no way to explain yourself. Wikipedia has thousends of articles about softwares, take for example this article which has a screenshot and a link to the company's homepage. I haven't posted any links or screenshots and haven't advertised anything, so your initial "it's an ad" argument failed, now you say it's not notable, but instead of helping you just delete it. I am in the process of improving the article and turning it into something "more relevant" ( whatever that means, 'cos you don't explain anything ). I see you're a member of the welcoming commitee, some welcome..., maybe trying to explain how to write an article instead of deleting it without giving a proper explanation would be more fitting to your position.

[edit] etoro trading platform deletion for advertising.

etoro speed deletion for advertising what exactly was the advertising? there was no link, no screenshot and nothing else that qualifies as advertising. all links were taken from credible sources according to wikipedia guidelines. I'd be happy to change anything specific that might have make you think it was an ad, but for that you'd have to tell me what was wrong with the article instead of deleting it 2 minutes after I uploaded it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JeromeDaurdan (talk • contribs) 18:24, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

  • You might have got me mixed up with someone else here - I'm not a member of the welcoming committee; regardless, the article as it stood was (as I said) merely a single line about Etoro with no reason why it might be notable at all. (A good page to read here is notability of corporations). Anyway, I was going to restore the text to your userspace - however I see you have just restored it anyway. I'm not going to delete it this time and will give it time to improve, but I suggest you do this fairly quickly, because in its current state it will just be deleted again.
