From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dresden was a Western Australian electronic music act, formed in 1991 and essentially defunct by 1996. Dresden were a virtual band (see for example Gorrilaz), although they were reported [1] to have toured Perth in the mid '90s.

The name of the band, originally suggested by Nick Evans, was selected by Dresden's members from a long list including Shutterspeed, MHz, Sine, Bipartisan, Chaos Theory, Anabiosis, The Markov Chain, Balkan and Shining Path.
Dresden were described by their record label Ideological Sound as "vapourbeat", a reference to vapourware.
