[edit] About

I am Jeremy Hipp, a college student at the University of Minnesota studying electrical engineering. I enjoy hanging out with my friends, working on websites, and going to school.

I live in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. I enjoy the weather during the summer, when it is not too hot outside, and I am not a big fan of the winter weather.

My areas of expertise include computers, electronics, the internet, math, science, and technology. So far, I have read much more than I have contributed, but I will probably make more contributions in the future.

[edit] Personal Stuff

My personal interests include music, art, computers, and electronics. Some of my favorite things are fixing broken or making new electric or electronic devices such as arcade games, building computers, writing code, designing websites, and playing piano or synthesizer.

[edit] Websites

I have a couple websites, http://www.jeremyhipp.com and http://www.sweetmercifulcrap.com. They are not really being used for anything at this point, other than for email.

[edit] Electronics

In the beginning of 2007, I programmed and built a binary clock out of LEDs and a PIC 16F84 microcontroller. It was a fun experience, and it taught me a lot about PIC assembly.

I have helped a friend fix a Centaur pinball machine, which is pretty fun. We also built a MAME arcade emulator out of an old computer, some arcade joystics and buttons hacked together into a computer keyboard controller, and an arcade cocktail table. It lives in his basement.

I enjoy making electronic devices and have built a theremin, which was a lot of fun to do.

[edit] Music

I enjoy playing and listening to music. I have a Roland XP-30 synthesizer, which is connected to my computer for recording purposes.

Some of my favorite bands include Phish, Radiohead, Alice in Chains, and Primus.
