From ages six through twelve. He played all sports. He remembers at age 12 he was a finalist in a basketball contest. He won the 50 year dash at age twelve. Some things weren’t always good his dog Lucky died and he made his first error at a baseball game that he was playing. He went to a different school at age six it was harttranft Elementary he was known as a good boy. He was known in baseball as a shortstop since he was so good in that particular spot. He made many mistakes in his elementary years like punching his best friend just because he wanted to know how it felt. After he did that his best friend’s glasses were nearly broken and so his friend ran home crying. His other best friend he threw rocks at his friends. The last two reasons helped me under stand why he wanted two be a “Good Boy”. From ages twelve to six-teen, and so on. He learned the a lot on to treat people so they would respect him. He had a couple girlfriends on the way to growing up. In 1955 he and his team won the baseball State Championships. He wasn’t bully after his good boy years. He and his brother got along very well. He remembers on Christmas he would get a bunch of presents that people would think his mom was rich. When he attended Stewart Junior High School he ran for class president and well he won. He also went to the prom at his one of his girl friends from grades1 through 4 in 1956. At that point in life he was well respected because he was so good in sports. That that munch happen to ruin the good events that had been happing in his life. Knots in My Yo-yo String was a great autobiography about Jerry Spinelli. He seem to have a good life. Jerry seem to be a really good player in all of the sports he tried. His childhood life was very interesting to me. I got the feeling from the book that he was living life to the fullest.
