Jerzy Kłoczowski

Jerzy Kłoczowski (born 29 December 1924) - Polish historian, professor at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, former member of the Polish Senate.

During the World War II, soldier of the Home Army (Armia Krajowa), participant of the Warsaw Uprising.

Professor of History at the Catholic University of Lublin, Director of the Institute of East-Central Europe in Lublin, Chair of the International Federation of Institutes of East-Central Europe, Chair of the Polish Commission of the Comparative History of Churches and Vice-Chair of the International Commission of the Comparative History of Churches, and Chair of the Polish Commission for UNESCO.

Jerzy Kłoczowski is a former lecturer at: College de France, Merton College (Oxford University), University of Wisconsin–Madison, Paris-Sorbonne University, Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, College of Europe in Natolin.

Doctor honoris causa of University of Grodno, Kiev-Mohyla Academy, Free University of Berlin and Sorbonne.
