Jerry Taft (born March 11, 1943) is the chief meteorologist for WLS-TV in Chicago. He is seen weeknights at 5, 6 and 10PM. Mr. Taft first joined ABC 7 in August of 1984 after 7 years in at WMAQ-TV, Chicago's NBC affiliate. Prior to coming to Chicago, Mr. Taft was weekend weatherman at KMOL-TV (now WOAI-TV) the NBC affiliate in San Antonio, Texas. Jerry served in the United States Air Force for 15 years as a pilot and forecaster before beginning his career in meteorology. Taft is a certified meteorologist with the AMS Seal of Approval from the American Meteorologist Society. Mr Taft holds a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology from the University of Wisconsin.
