Jerome Junction, Arizona
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jerome Junction, Arizona is a ghost town in Yavapai County. Established in 1894, the town served as a railroad stop between the town of Prescott and the now-ghost town of Jerome. It served the Santa Fe, Phoenix, and Prescott Railroad for 15 years. The railroad was built precariously on the side of Woodchute Mountain; in fact, a train was once derailed and went over the side of the mountain. Fortunately, the engineer survived. When the railroad was built to Clarksdale, Jerome Junction became a ghost town. All that remains are some foundations and railroad equipment.
