Jerome E. Beaulier, a United States Navy F-4 Phantom pilot and MiG killer during the Vietnam War, was one of the original students of the Navy's Fighter Weapons School, more famously known as Top Gun, when the school was still part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet's F-4 flight crew training Fleet Replacement Squadron, VF-121 Pacemakers in the late 1960s to early 70's. His exploits were covered in a book titled Scream of Eagles, written by Robert K. Wilcox, which tells the story of Top Gun.
