Jerome Badini is a french saxophonist and composer involved in electro-jazz.

[edit] Biography

His father, Gerard Badini, is a famous sax player and conductor who worked with Duke Ellington and Stan Getz among others. Jerome listened to Miles Davis, James Brown, Herbie Hancock and Prince through out his teens. Inspired by house music from Chicago and New York and fueled on Maceo Parker and Bennie Maupin, Jerome Badini created his own style: electro-sax ! A powerhouse sound, terse and hypnotic, the sax is a trance-maker in his hands. He's been acclaimed performing live with Little Louie Vega (Vinyl, New York), Derrick May (Amnesia, Ibiza) and DJ Sneak (Elysée-Montmartre, Paris).

Thanks to Dimitri from Paris, he met with DJ-producer Alexkid. They composed together Trindade for Trip Do Brasil (Sony). Then, with Ilene Barnes, he wrote Fantasy where the Detroit singer's deep voice can be heard answering Jerome's feverish sax. With David Duriez, he has recorded Get On Down (2020 Vision). In 2004, Jerome Badini has composed and produced 'Round The Clock (Super Bad Trax), a 12 track journey. This album takes us to the enchanted world of Super Bad, the tenor sax adventurer, who guides us through a day of musical reverie and conquest, all throbbing with that energy many claim, but few possess: Swing !

In 2006, he has worked with his father's orchestra for the first time and produced Scriabin's Groove to set six Alexander Scriabin piano pieces opposite their transpositions into the idiom of jazz. This album has been unanimously acclaimed in the press and awarded. In 2007, Jean-Philippe Audin (VideoCello), Jerome Badini (ElectroSax) and Judith Darmont (VideoKeyboard) has launched MovieSonic, a multimedia band that blends electro-jazz, classical music and video-art. On stage, they simultaneously mix music, photo and video triggered through the magic of their digitally enhanced instruments...
