Jeremy Jon Oscar Smith (born April 14, 1980 in Christchurch, New Zealand) is a New Zealand rugby league player for the Melbourne Storm in the National Rugby League competition. His position of choice is in the second-row. Smith is not to be confused with compatriot and namesake Jeremy James Smith. Both Jeremy Smith's were named in the rugby league Centenary clash of 14 October 2007, South's Smith with the number 7 jersey, and Melbourne's Grand Final winner Smith in the number 13 position.[1]
Although born in New Zealand and recruited by the Storm from Runaway Bay on Queensland's Gold Coast. Smith played the majority of his junior rugby league with the Altona Roosters club in Melbourne. Thus making Smith technically the first local junior to play for the Storm.
