Jeremy James Smith is a New Zealand rugby league player that currently plays halfback for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the NRL. Jeremy signed with South Sydney for the 2007 season. He penned his deal short after the announcement that his coach at the time, Jason Taylor would also join the Rabbitohs in 2007. He is comfortable in both the Five-eighth position as well as Halfback. Smith is not to be confused with fellow Kiwi Jeremy Jon Oscar Smith[1], the second-rower from the Melbourne Storm Jeremy has proven himself as a tenacious halfback and is currently the starting halfback at Souths in 2007. With the arrival of Craig Wing in 2008, Smith played mostly in five-eighth in the opening few games for Souths, eventually he was dropped by coach Jason Taylor after South's first round loss to the Roosters.

He formerly played for the Parramatta Eels. He infamously pushed the referee in a match against the Dragons. He has also represented the New Zealand Maori side.
