Jeremy Sment

Jeremy Sment 1976-2008 was an American composer. Sment studied composition and contrabass at New Mexico State University (B.M.) and Duquesne University (M.M.). His teachers included P.Q. Phan, David Stock, Michael Staehle, and Jeff Turner. He has studied composition at L'Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris with Claude Baker and Narcis Bonet, with Joel Hoffman in Hvar, Croatia, and Julio Viera at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in Florida.
Sment's music has been played by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (2005), eighth blackbird (2007), IonSound Project (2006), and Jeff Turner (2006). Sment has 7 film composing credits, and three musical theater sound-scapes. He was pursuing a doctorate in musical arts from Indiana University.
