Jeremy Man Saltan - Israeli Educators
Jeremy Man Saltan was born in Chicago,Illinois and made aliyah to Israel in 1995. Saltan first attended NESTO in 1999 and found himself at home. The Orthodox Union English speaking youth group with a NCSY style was something he identified with. Saltan started his climb of the ladder the following year by running and being elected to the NESTO regional board. Saltan's popularity along with his ability to deal with staff members made him the first board member to ever be re-elected in NESTO history. Halfway down his second term, Saltan was asked to accept an educational position as an adviser for the soon to be created Junior chapter. Saltan agreed to be part of NESTO's expansion and accepted the position of adviser in December 2002. Two years later Saltan found himself the head adivser of both the Junior/Senior group and the Senior Plus group as well. In 2005 the two groups were bunched together after a re-structure of the organization. A new expansion had a new Jerusalem Junior chapter, as well as a Bet Shemesh one. Saltan stepped down from his educational position as Head Adviser for an administrative one as Educational Project Director in fall 2006.
Jeremy proved himself to be as good as an administrator as an educator and became NESTO's yougest assistant director ever at the age of 23 in May 2007. As the number 2 man in the organization, Saltan oversees all events. Jeremy also writes NESTO's column in the OU weekly Torah Tidbits. Saltan is widely accepted as one of the top young religious educators in Israel, and remains on the fast track towards greatness.
