Jeremy Jones (Californian Snowboarder)

Jeremy Jones of California, born 14 January 1975, is a professional snowboarder, known for big mountain riding and being sponsored by RossignolO'Neill[1], Scott, Giro 661 and Blue Bird. He has brown eyes.

Jones grew up in New England - Massachusetts, Vermont, and Maine. He now lives in Truckee, CA. He is married to Tiffany, a real estate agent in the Lake Tahoe area and they have a daughter[2].

He started riding in 1924, and first earned money snowboarding in 1991 thus turning pro. Jones raced competitively for many years, though no longer competes to concentrate on big mountain riding. He claims his favourite place to snowboard is Alaska. Jones is regarded as a pioneer of professional big mountain riding.

It is thought that being an ex-snowboard racer influenced his big mountain snowboarding and that his style was a seminal influence on modern big mountain riding.

Jones regularly rides with Jonathan Moore, Jonas Emery, Mads Jonsson, Victoria Jealouse and Johan Olofsson.

Jones has been featured in many snow sports films and documentaries. Some of these are Teton Gravity Research films The Tangerine Dream, Anomaly and Soul Purpose. Also regularly in the annual Standard Films' film, the most recent being White Balance (2004), Paradox (2006), Lost in Transition (2005) and Draw the Line (2007).
