Jerbropilly Mine

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Jerbropilly Mine is an exhausted open pit coal mine in the Moreton Basin near Amberley in South East Queensland. The mine is owned by New Hope Coal.

The mine ceased operations after 25 years of extraction in February 2007. The mines closure leaves one operating mine left in Ipswich.[1] To offset production from Jerbropilly Mine, New Hope has expanded mining at the New Acland Mine.[2]

The coal washing plant has continued to operate so that coal from New Oakleigh Mine can be processed.[1]
