[edit] Talk pages
Hi, I'm glad you appreciated the article on Chapters and verses of the Bible, and I'll look out for more references as you suggested.
One general comment: your new section came out near the top of the page. When starting a new discussion on Talk pages (either articles' Talk pages or users'), please click the "+" tab at the top of the page, which starts a new section at the foot of the page. This makes it easier for others to find the latest contribution on the page. - Fayenatic london (talk) 14:26, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Tropical research/tropical cyclone article
My research has been confined to TC rainfall and subtropical genesis over the years. The last tropical cyclone meeting I went to was the IHC in 2006. Now that the intro on my part has been made, keep in mind that wikipedia is meant to be written in encyclopedaic style using the consensus viewpoint, and is supposed to leave out "weasel words" which we so often use in the science to express uncertainty. They're taking the IPCC statement as the consensus from the tropical cyclone article, which isn't particularly incorrect. Thegreatdr 21:33, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Tallest by US State
No problem; I actually figured you were going to anyway after I read your talk page note, but I just had to change it for those 5 mins that someone might have been misinformed. Hey, you never know if someone had to do a report on that subject and they got bad info cause of something I didn't change...LOL.
So, any help I can be, lemme know, and don't knock the Eagles...at least they went to the playoffs this year, unlike the other Florida teams :-D EaglesFanInTampa (formerly Jimbo) 14:37, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] US County/State Maps
Hey. I use GIMP, the open-source bitmap editor to trace county and city boundaries out to create the maps. www.census.gov gives the PDF files that are used for tracing counties, Libre Map project for the State svg maps. The nice thing about GIMP is the layer attribute that allows you to paste the PDF image into GIMP, trace on a top layer, and then remove the PDF image, leaving the trace behind.
