Jennifer Eileen Hale



Jennifer E. Hale was born in New Orleans, La; grew up in Semmes, Al and is now an anchor and reporter for NBC 13, WVTM in Birmingham, AL.

- Jennifer enjoys traveling, free-lance writing, photography, tennis, running, weight training, cycling, surfing, triathlons, snow skiing and cooking.

- She's earned the prestigious Edward R Murrow Award and an Emmy for her reporting on the 2006 Church Arson Investigation in Central Alabama, as well as an AP Award for her series on Hurricane Katrina, "The Battle to Survive Katrina's Aftermath."

- Jennifer also worked at WAFB in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she covered state politics. Jennifer earned numerous Associated Press and National Federation of Press Women awards for her work covering the Louisiana Legislature, the South Louisiana Serial Killer and LSU's 2003 National Championship season. Her first broadcast job was in Monroe, La., where she also covered politics and was the weekend anchor.

- Jennifer transplanted to Louisiana after high school in Mobile, Al to attend LSU's Honors College where she earned her bachelor's degree in Political Science ans a minor in Broadcast Journalism. While at LSU, Jennifer was a vice president of Delta Zeta's Sigma Chapter, a Captain of the LSU Cheerleading Squad, Homecoming Queen and Miss LSU. She went on to get her Master's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern University in Chicago and a certificate in Political Journalism from Georgetown University and the Institute on Political Journalism. Jennifer also spent a summer abroad at University College Dublin, completing a program on Irish Culture and Politics.
