Jens Elmegård Rasmussen

Jens Elmegård Rasmussen (March 15, 1944, Denmark) is associate professor of Indo-European Studies at University of Copenhagen. He is an expert on Proto-Indo-European and Indo-European languages in general, especially morphophonemics, but he has also published articles on the history of Eskimo-Aleut languages and linguistic diachrony. He supports the Indo-Uralic and Eurasiatic hypotheses.
Elmegård Rasmussen is the leading editor of the international scholarly journal Tocharian and Indo-European Studies (TIES) and chief editor of the book series Copenhagen Studies in Indo-European. He is married to the Danish Indo-Europeanist Birgit Anette Olsen.
