Jenna Gawne (aka. Jenna G., or Jenna Garcia) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, performer and actor.
Jenna's music is soulful, a mix of acoustic r&b, with pop-latin & hip-hop influences. She is a petite powerhouse, and her voice has a richness and depth that most don't expect from this young star.
Her first appearance on the music scene was when she contributed three songs for the Awesome Collective Vol. 1 compilation put out in 2003. The tracks she contributed were, 'Gentlemen', 'Best Thing', and 'Everybody Needs To Be Loved'. Two of those songs became singles with accompanying videos, 'Gentlemen' and 'Best Thing'. Both videos proved to be big hits on such Music Video stations as MuchMusic, MuchVibe, and MTV Canada. Those released garnered her the spot as the opening act for SNOOP DOGG's XMAS TOUR. The only female act on the bill, Jenna took to the stages, and rocked the house, sharing her music with a total audience of 50,000 by tour's end. She was then nominated for Best New Artist/Song of the year at the CRMA's.
In 2006 she released two new singles 'Don't Wanna Let U Go', and 'Change You'. Both songs have garnered heavy rotation on Flow 93.5, as well as other radio stations across the country including, The Beat 94.5, Vibe 98.5, Hot 103, The Beat 91.5, Wild 101, Z 103.5, Kiss 105.3, and Hot 89.9 She has written for various other artists including Idol winners. (Most recently on Eva Avila's debut album "Somewhere Else" for the song "Should I Fall" as well as Ryan Malcolm's "October Skies" on his "Home" album....) Her company Golden Child Musiq was her foundation and platform to launch various projects.
Jenna's work as a talent is not solely limited to music. She also has a budding career in TV,FILM & THEATRE. (Annie, Grease, Oliver) Her first movie role was in Director Guy Ferland's "Bang Bang You're Dead", and she has been featured in various BCTV and CTV shows/series. She also does voice over work, commercial and cartoon voices. She was a featured and musical guest on several shows including The Toronto Show.
Her new release "OHH" Featuring Daetona has reached the TOP 20 on Canadian & UK charts, with its US release slated next. Check out this new single to be released Summertime 2007 on Universal Music's Honey Jam compilation, with companion video to follow.
Jenna works with several productions camps across the UK, Canada & US writing for various Major label acts and their projects. Her songs will be showcased on many forthcoming new artists releases in 2007. Her cousin is Sophie, a Kid Nation participant.
