[edit] Background

Coleman attended Arnold School in Blackpool where she was Head Girl and gained straight A's in her A-levels.[2] Before getting her break on television Coleman worked in a bar as well as making appearances on the stage.[citation needed]

[edit] Career

Her big break came in 2005 when she joined Emmerdale in which she plays Jasmine Thomas, the niece of local vicar Ashley Thomas. Ironically on the day she got the part she was finally accepted into a drama school.[citation needed] In 2005 she appeared in the BBC Children in Need, an annual British charity appeal organized by the BBC.

Coleman's 21st birthday party in Leeds was covered in OK! magazines 26th June 2007 issue. It was her first main appearance in the society magazine. In 2006 Coleman was nominated twice for awards, in The British Soap Awards she was nominated as Best Newcomer and in the National Television Awards she was nominated as Most Popular Newcomer.[3] In July 2007 she was nominated in the "Sexiest Female" category at the Inside Soap Awards.[4] However she lost out in the end to Roxanne McKee who plays Louise Summers in Hollyoaks.

Other Emmerdale actresses from the Fylde Coast include: Kelsey-Beth Crossley who plays (Scarlett Nicholls), Raine Davison (Eve Birch) and Hayley Tamaddon (Del Dingle).

[edit] Personal life

Her website reveals that she is dating Karl Davies who played Robert Sugden in Emmerdale and that she lives with her former co-star Julia Mallam in Leeds. She is 5ft 2in tall and a UK 10 dress size.[citation needed]
