Jenesien (San Genesio Atesino) (Italian: San Genesio Atesino; German: Jenesien; Archaic (1186 AD): Sancti Genesii; Archaic (1336AD): San Zenesius) is a comune (municipality) in the province of Bolzano-Bozen in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 50 km northeast of the city of Trento and about 4 km northwest of the city of Bolzano (de. Bozen). As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,828 and an area of 69.0 km².[1]

The municipality of Jenesien (San Genesio Atesino) contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Avigna, Cologna, Montoppio, and Valas.

Jenesien (San Genesio Atesino) borders the following municipalities: Bolzano, Mölten (Meltina), Ritten (Renon), Sarntal (Sarentino), and Terlan (Terlano).
