[edit] Wikilaw algorithms
Rather than memorize wikipedia policy, I've condensed what policy I've had to waste my time reading into simple algorithms. Please add more algorithms if you can! —Jemmytc
- To remove unsourced material, cite WP:V#Burden_of_Evidence and WP:Citing_sources#Unsourced_material; also see verifiability tags.
- If warned for vandalism, cite WP:ICA, use {{subst:uw-tempabuse}}
- To win an edit war, establish "disruption":
[NB. I'm leaving this in place for now, but in fact this is not how to go about it; a better algorithm makes use of page protection. I'll come back and fix it later.]
- Revert, Post to talk page asking for discussion and/or sources.
- If no response:
- Revert again; "Notifying the author you find disruptive in addition to any other relevant editor on their talk page about your wish to discuss may be helpful."
- "Attempt to engage new editor in dialogue. Refer to policies and guidelines as appropriate." (I.e., post a list of policies the editor is violating to the talk page.)
- Request intervention at WP:RFC/USER or WP:DISPUTE
- Request intervention on WP:ANI
- If nonsense response:
- Not specified in policy; attempt as above: revert post revert notify attempt request.
I'd like a template message for unresponsive in dialog.
