[edit] January 2008
The recent edit you made to Mindless Self Indulgence constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thanks. ยท AndonicO Hail! 21:35, 28 January 2008 (UTC))
You asked for an explanation of the genre on MSI, so here it is. On Wikipedia, we work on a system of verifiability through reliable sources, not of 'truth'. We also work on consensus, and the consesnsus is that the current genres listed on the page are accurate. You are, of course, welcome to discuss the matter on the talk page. However, whether or not your changes constitute vandalism, edit warring is not a good thing, and if you continue, you will probably find yourself blocked for violating the three revert rule. Consider that your only warning. I am now going to revert the article to the version with consensus, and request that you kindly take your dispute to the talk page. J Milburn (talk) 22:19, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. --neonwhite user page talk 22:19, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] "Industrial Jungle Pussy Punk"
Right, well, as long as you formatted your comments properly and were polite, they should not have been deleted. I can understand your frustration here, but please bear with me. Both Doktor Wilhelm and Neon white are good editors, they are just protective of the MSI article, and who can blame them, the amount of vandalism it attracts! It looks to me like they have mistaken your good faith attempts to improve the article as vandalism. However, what the band says is not always right- in fact, what the band says cannot be counted as a reliable source because it not third party- take a read of the guidelines I just linked to. For instance, imagine Britney Spears said she was death metal- would we include that in her article? No. I think, in this case, the best option is to stick with what the professional reviewers call them, but I do think there is potential for a comment in the article something akin to "The band has said in interviews that they consider their genre to be "Industrial Jungle Pussy Punk".[cite]" So you could possibly bring that up on the talk page of the article. I moved your comment to the bottom of my talk page, as that is where we place comments on talk pages. Feel free to message me again if you are not sure of something or if I can be of help.
