Jelsa (Gelsa in Italian) is a municipality in on the island of Hvar, Croatia. It is located in the Split-Dalmatia county. It has a population of 3,656 (2001 census), 96% which are Croats. Jelsa is surrounded by pine forests and hills in which hotels and resorts are evenly placed.
