[edit] Municipality of Anchorage Seal

Hi Jeffrey,

This was the only usable image I could find on the Web, hope it's what you had in mind; if not, feel free to point me in another direction. I added the image as a thumbnail on the Anchorage, Alaska page, feel free to tweak it how you like. Good luck!--Lordkinbote 00:08, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Juneau City and Borough Flag

No idea what's going on here, the file doesn't show up under "My Contributions" nor as a deleted edit, it's just gone from the server. I'll have to look and see what I did with the image on my machine and try uploading it again.--Lordkinbote 19:34, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

I made a new image of the Juneau City and Borough Flag and put it in the Juneau City and Borough infobox.--JeffreyAllen1975 01:47, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for your work on municipal flags. Contributions like yours are what make this project so great. Cheers, -Willmcw 09:24, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Just out of curiosity, have you ever been to Anchorage? —akghetto talk 04:16, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Anc65.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Anc65.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. 81.170.235.234 15:11, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

The same applies to Image:AnchoragewithMcKinleyinthebackground.jpg and Image:Downtownanchorage,Alaska.jpg /81.170.235.234 15:13, 7 February 2006 (UTC) (en:User:Grillo not logged in)
...and Image:Anchorage-1940s2.jpg, Image:Alaska Center for the Performing Arts.jpg, en:Image:Alaska Statehood Monument in Downtown Anchorage.jpg and finally Image:Tourist returning to Anchorage from Denali National Park.jpg. You must always give a source when claiming GFDL! Most importantly, GFDL didn't exist in the 60's and 40's! /81.170.235.234 15:16, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi Jeffrey .. i was wondering if you could respond to my comments at Talk:Population_of_Texas_cities_in_2000 .. i'm sure i'm wrong and you're right, since you're a lot more experienced at this than me, but i was hoping you'd explain your sources.

[edit] Copyright problems with Image:Juneau01.jpg

An image that you uploaded, Image:Juneau01.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

GFDL can't be claimed without a source, as the copyright policy says. This appears to be the same image juneau01.jpg as is on http://www.galenfrysinger.com/juneau_alaska.htm, which doesn't release its content under GFDL. If the copyright holder released it in a personal correspondence with you, you need to note this, with name and date. —Zero Gravitas 21:53, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Us-ak-ju.gif

Hello JeffreyAllen1975, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Us-ak-ju.gif) was found at the following location: User talk:JeffreyAllen1975. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Please note that it is possible that the image on your page is included vie a template or usebox. In that case, please find a free image for the template or userbox. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 05:53, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:Anchorage Glacier Pilots.jpg

Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Anchorage Glacier Pilots.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:02, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner.
