==Welcome== Hello JeffBerg and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've chosen to join us. This is a great project with lots of dedicated people, which might seem intimidating at times, but don't let anything discourage you. Be bold!, explore, and contribute. Try to be civil by following simple guidelines and signing your talk comments with ~~~~ but never forget that one of our central tenets is to ignore all rules.

If you want to learn more, Wikipedia:Tutorial is the place to go, but eventually the following links might also come in handy:

Float around until you find something that tickles your fancy. One easy way to do this is to hit the random page button in the navigation bar to the left. Additionally, the Community Portal offers a more structured way to become acquainted with the many great committees and groups that focus on specific tasks. My personal favorite stomping grounds are Wikipedia:Translation into English as well as the cleanup, welcoming, and counter-vandalism committees. Finally, the Wikimedia Foundation has several other wiki projects that you might enjoy. If you have any more questions, always feel free to ask me anything on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- Draeco 13:17, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Message Board links

There is no set policy on that. It's up to individual editors to decide what stays and what goes. The Mediation Cabal or WP:POLLS are both good ways to get in touch with the community and see where the concensus lies. In the case of the Keith Olbermann article, I think you did the right thing by adding link to all five boards at the end. But then it's just my personal opinion that Wikipedia articles should contain as much information as possible. It would also be O.K. to list none of them, according to your logic on my talk page, but listing only one out of several message boards would not be good at all. Good job spotting the problem and resolving it. Sorry that the message board author bit you; people often get overly attached to their work. Don't let it discourage you, and keep the edits coming. - Draeco 18:15, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Jeff, I understand your frustration with DoctorMike, but I can't help what he does. We have a very different attitude toward Wikipedia. I highly recommend that you post the issue from my talk page on his talk page so that he is made aware of it. I have also replied to you on my talk page. CuteGargoyle 15:50, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Not sure if you are monitoring my page or not so I left you a reply there (to prevent complex threading). BTW you want to sign posts to talk pages with 4 ~'s at the end. jbolden1517Talk 19:08, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

replied again. Just posting here to make sure you see. Let me know if you are monitoring (and if you don't know how let me know as well). jbolden1517Talk 23:24, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
