Burn the Earth and boil the Sea, you can't take the Sky from me

I am a biologist but I also like to keep informed about other scientific fields. I have a strong interest in science communication and like to do my part to educate people on the fundamentals and findings of science. I play a few games and have a few hobbies for which I contribute to the pages for as well.

Outside of my scientific interests my primary objective is NPOV. I'm involved in the efforts to route out the PoV, bad referencing, factual inaccuracies and undue weight issues from the pseudoscience and alternative medicine articles, which currently are a real obstacle to Wikipedia being accepted as a legitimate encyclopedia. Please feel free to help or add your comments to my talk page as I am always open to suggestion (or criticisms). If you know of a page which you suspect may be POV, please let me know.

Please leave any comments on my talk page, and not this page

[edit] Current article focus

Here is a list of science article I'm currently working on. If they interest you, please join in, especially if you have relevant knowledge. Leave a message on my talk page if you want more info.

  • Ecdysozoa-My current top priority. This major grouping of moulting animals was originally an extremely fringe view-point. Within the past few decades the influx of new DNA evidence has lead to it becoming firmly established. Sadly, the article is a bit light on information. I'm very keen for any old-school taxonomists to help flesh out the new criticisms section. Editors with knowledge in molecular techniques could also add a lot. This is a topic which all biologists should be able to add to in detail though.
  • Lophotrochozoa-The counterpart to the ecdysozoa. The phylums here are more outside of my expertise. The molluscs and annelids are found here, and they've got some fans.
  • Protostome-The grouping to which they both belong
  • Deuterostome-The counterpart to the protostomes
  • Sciaridae-A love of mine, but the article is much too brief
  • Agromyzidae-A very important family, needs a much improved article
  • Asilidae- Robber flier, AKA assassin flies. Just as cool as they sound
  • Diamondback moth- World-wide pest of crucifers
