JeffW77--born 1955. I live in the Portland, Oregon USA area. Wrote a short article about Lynn Carey for Wikipedia 4/7/07. Added details to the Eric Clapton article 4/7/07.

College graduate. Divorced. Two sons.

Interests: Eric Clapton, rock 'n' roll music, motorcycling, swimming, reading, singing, biographies, history (especially 1940s-1950s--WWII and its aftermath). I enjoy locating articles that caught my eye when I was young.

I would like to find the parody of the nursery rhyme "Old King Cole" that appeared in LOOK magazine, I believe, when the Motion Picture Assn. of America introduced its movie rating system (G, M, R, X). The parody went something like this:

Old King Cole was a merry old soul, and a merry old soul was he. He called for his pipe and he called for his bowl, and his picture was rated a G.

(can't remember) ...he put grass in his pipe, so his picture was rated an M.

Then into the palace, came three girls named Alice, each of whom titillated the czar. They danced in the nude (one was nicely tattooed) so his picture was rated an R.

(then an orgy ensues, and the picture is rated an X)

I have no idea who wrote the original, and I have not searched exhaustively for a copy of the magazine in which it appeared. I cannot recall the date. Historical reference point would be the intro of the MPAA rating system circa 1969. I'll check old LOOK magazines at the library.

I hope to contribute more to Wikipedia. I do not have the set of skills to provide detailed citations or web-related markup, but I do have a good ability to separate fact from fiction or at least stick to known facts.
