[edit] Largest mall in Kentucky when new

Having lived in Louisville much of my life, including when this mall opened in 1978, it was said in the media that this mall was the largest in Kentucky at that time. Does anyone have any sources we can reference for this? Stevie is the man! TalkWork 05:26, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

  • I didn't see anything in the CJ 2001-present, but I might have missed it or they might just been doing sloppy reporting (no!). Uh, I'll run a search back to 1988 the next time I have access to that database, but if it's not there I don't know where to look really. Aside from microfilm of newspapers from around the day the mall opened... which I don't particularly want to do. But surely some mall enthusiasts have a listing of malls my square foot that would include J-Mall, I saw one of the 20 largest malls in the US and the 20th wasn't even twice as large as J-Mall. --W.marsh 15:45, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
  • By the way, lucky me got The Encyclopedia of Louisville for Christmas, but it doesn't specify what I'm looking for. In fact, its coverage of mall development in the area is underwhelming. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 14:05, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
