Markey had been banned on October 15, 2005, from editing Wikipedia following a dispute (including legal threats on his part) regarding the contents of his biography[1]. Although his banning was reversed in January 2007, in May 2007 he was banned again for an unrelated editing dispute, including legal threats against the Wikimedia Foundation[2] and a request that he be granted "sysop" (high-level) access to the encyclopedia.[3] The ban will end in June, 2008.
