The Jeffries Covered Bridge was destroyed by arson on April 2, 2002. It was a Burr Arch Truss covered bridge structure that was built by Joseph A. Britton & Son in 1861.[2] It was 204 feet long, 16 feet wide, and 13 feet high. Parke County is debating whether to rebuild this bridge, to preserve this historical bridge.
