Jeffrey Steefel started his career working as an actor and singer, performing in 1988 off-Broadway in New York, Jesus in Godspell gaining a New York time review. Then he moved to the West Coast and became an ensemble member for the Colony Theater Company in Burbank.
Jeffrey Steefel served four years as producer and designer for 7th Level and created a number of games including: Tamagotchi, Return to Krondor, Monty Python’s Meaning of Life, Monty Python’s Complete Waste of Time, Battle Beast, Monty Python’s Holy Grail, Ace Ventura Pet Detective, The Universe According to Virgil Reality, Fun on Imagination Island, Barney's Undersea Adventure, Barney Goes to the Farm, Barney Goes to the Circus, The Lil Howie Adventure Series and Timon & Pumbaa's Jungle Games.
In early 2004, Jeffrey joined Turbine and oversaw production of The Lord of The Rings Online. Before this he worked on Programming & Production for Sony Online Entertainment and headed their digital studios in Los Angeles and New York, where he oversaw 120 production staff for The Station@Sony.com. He was responsible for supervising the launch of several franchises such as JEOPARDY! Online, Wheel of Fortune Online, and Trivial Pursuit Online among others in conjunction with ESPN. Among this he also did initiate pilot game services for Interactive Television, Wireless and Broadband distribution, developing business relationships with Columbia Tri-Star Television, MTV, RealNetworks, VH1, ESPN, Hasbro, and LucasArts.[1]
