[edit] The book Origins of the Fourth World War

In his book "Origins of the Fourth World War" Nyquist promotes the theory that World War IV and use of nuclear weapons are inevitable because, he alleges, totalitarian political forces are still in control to this day in Russia, China, and many other countries. These were previously put forward by the controversial Soviet KGB defector Anatoliy Golitsyn[4] described in books "Lies for Old" and "Perestroika Deception."[5]. The Nyquist book was endorsed by GRU defector Stanislav Lunev[6] who claimed that "My friend Jeff Nyquist's book, the Origins of the Fourth World War, is a brilliant result of long term and very professional geo-political research and analysis."[7]. The book was also endorsed by Geoff Metcalf, former talk show host[8] and current columnist for NewsMax and former columnist for WorldNetDaily, who had this comment on the book: "This book is a fascinating, comprehensive, and chilling, detailed analysis of the ultimate 'what if.' Read it and pray."[7] However, Antiwar.coms Justin Raimondo, who is a strong supporter of Russian president Vladimir Putin[9], wrote that "if [WorldNetDaily] columnist J.R. Nyquist is an 'expert' on Russia, then I'm Henry Kissinger."[10]

[edit] On-line journalist and commentator

Nyquist was a regular columnist for the online news site WorldNetDaily.[1] He has also contributed articles to other online news sites such as Sierra Times[11] and NewsMax[3]. He is currently a regular columnist for Financial Sense[1] where he serves as the geopolitical analyst. He has appeared on several radio programs over the years being both interviewed and serving as a guest commentator. He currently hosts his own radio program on WIBG, a tiny Christian fundamentalist radio station covering the Atlantic City, Cape May, and other southern New Jersey areas.[2][12]

  4. ^ Golitsyn worked in the strategic planning department of the KGB in the rank of Major. After his defection, in January 1962, the KGB sent instructions to fifty-four residents throughout the world on the actions required to minimize the damage. All meetings with important agents were to be suspended. In November 1962, KGB head Vladimir Semichastny approved a plan for assassination of Golitsyn and other "particularly dangerous traitors" including Igor Gouzenko, Nikolay Khokhlov, and Bogdan Stashinsky. Golitsyn provided information about many famous Soviet agents including Kim Philby, Donald Duart Maclean, Guy Burgess, John Vassall.
