Jeffrey Grice is a New Zealand musician.
Resident in France, Jeffrey Grice has performed regularly in Europe and France as a soloist and chamber musician. In 1999 he was made an "Officier de l'ordre des Arts et des Lettres" by the French government for services in the field of music. Born in Christchurch Jeffrey Grice studied languages and music at Auckland University. He then continued his piano studies in Paris, obtaining the Licence de Concert de l'Ecole Normale Supérieure de Musique. Other formative influences came from a year spent in Israel with Enrique Barenboim, and from the coaching of Charles Rosen and Florencia Raitzin.
A laureate of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation, the Cziffra Foundation and the Sophia-Antipolis Foundation, performing regularly in Europe and Japan as a soloist and chamber musician, with many prominent conductors and performers. Jeffrey Grice has given first performances of works by Jenny McLeod (Tone Clock Pieces) and Nigel Keay (the dancer leads the procession 1).
He has recorded in Europe for CALLIOPE, ERATO and INTEGRAL CLASSIC and in Japan for SONY CLASSICAL, COSMO VILLAGE and JVC.
