[edit] History
Established in 2005, through a donation from Jeffrey Smith, an alumnus of the college, the Jeffrey E. Smith Institute of Real Estate was created to meet the growing interest of students in the College of Business, seeking to learn more about the real estate industry.[1] In addition, the Institute helps arrange and sponsor speakers from around the country to speak to classes in the real estate curriculum and to deliver MBA seminars. The Institute also provides support to Rho Epsilon, the national student professional organization in real estate and currently offers four different classes that covers various aspects and disciplines of the real estate industry. In 2006, Samuel Goldman was hired as the first director of the Institute. In addition to the The April Forum the Institute sponsors a mini forum for both undergraduate and graduate students introducing the students to the many facets of real estate. Real estate professionals from around the state have participated in the program.
