Jefferson High School is a public high school in Alexandria, Minnesota. It is a 10th-12th Grade school. Generally considered to be an outdated building, several referendums to fund the construction of a replacement school have failed. The former principal was Joseph Hill, who resigned following the 2006-2007 school year, with Carmen Strahan being chosen as his successor.
Additionally, JHS has "Out-houses" or temporary classrooms separate from the main building that were built in the 1970s meant to last 10 years, however they are still in use. Students often kick, punch, or steal pieces of these buildings as souvenirs of their school. The facility is celebrating its 50th Birthday in 2007. It has gone through several remodeling in 1963, 1978, 1979, and the most recent in 1993.
