Jefferson Cup Stakes

The Jefferson Cup Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race run in mid June at the end of the Churchill Downs Spring Meet in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Jefferson is run on the turf at a distance of one and one eighth miles (9 furlongs) on grass. A Grade II event, it is open to three year old horses of either gender.

Currently the race offers a purse of $200,000 added. The Jefferson will be in its 31st running in 2008.
